  • Future Internet Enterprises:
The main focus is the deployment of Future Internet technologies (Internet of Services, Internet of Things) supporting all processes in supply chain environments such as sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, etc. Research focuses on integration/ federation of different heterogeneous information sources (services, sensor platforms, social media) with analytics capabilities, aiming at creating a holistic and dynamic monitoring environment for enterprises. Relevant Projects: SIMPLE, MSEE, EURIDICE, LogisticsForLife, LOGINN, CONVERGE, Commius, Fusion, Genesis.
  • E-accessibility, health and independent living
The main focus is the development of innovative ICT platforms and services supporting e-accessibility, health and independent living. The unit addresses societal challenges, such as active ageing and e-Inclusion supporting older adults and disabled persons through the use of innovative information and communication technologies (ICT). The technological solutions offered are based on intelligent ambient technology using sensors to monitor biological parameters and living conditions, on personalized mobile/portable healthcare solutions for disease management as well as on innovative platforms and middleware integrating robotics, haptic interfaces and/or virtual reality technologies providing end-to-end personalized solutions for independent living, patient training and rehabilitation. Our work focuses on the integration of modules and components for developing innovative ICT platforms and highly personalized services such as cognitive training, fall management, reinforcement of social interaction and self-management, tele-care assistance on demand and many other. Relevant Projects: KINOPTIM, I-DONT-FALL, SOCIABLE, ElderSpaces, HOMEdotOLD, SOPRANO, HERA, CLOUD4ALL, PROSPERITY4ALL, TELECARE, CARE@HOME, FI-STAR-ANGEL, AEGIS, ASK-IT, OASIS, ASPIC

Role in Project

  • Develop an integrated information system bridging the robot perception data with utility mapping digitised information and digital maps information. Overlay them in order to reconstruct and update the underground environment including annotated buried utilities.
  • Develop data management system to enable the user to manage, analyse and visualise the information which directly or indirectly related to the underground environment, the construction process, and the robot state.
  • Develop and interactive and dynamic graphical user interface through which users will be able to analyse and visualise information for path planning, motion planning, 3D reconstruction, maps, etc.
  • Horizontal and vertical software integration and interface engineering for a secure and interoperable overarching architecture encompassing both robotic devices and IoT network.
  • Middleware and embedded software development for distributed robotic systems based on ROS architectures. We can offer instrumentation configuration and implementation of real-time sensor-based data acquisition and microcontroller-based feedback-control automation.

Relative Expertise

The company has been involved as a system integrator and software developer in many European Projects, as well as in commercial activities. Having worked with different technologies and communication protocols in its latest research activities around assisted living, the company has managed to integrate different products in its solutions. Much research has been devoted to address the indoor context with wireless technologies including RFID, Ultra Wide Band, WiFi, Bluetooth, Ultra High Frequency, Ultrasound and InfraRed. The continuous aim of the company is to integrate multiple sensing elements into operational devices and improving communication management and data fusion techniques.

Singular Logic has a long standing expertise in horizontal and vertical software integration and significant experience in maintaining high quality security standards by achieving the ISO 27001 certificate annually. The company has established a certified information security management system by providing a systematic approach to manage confidential and sensitive information. Characteristic example is the collection, processing and presentation of Greek Election results undertaken by SingularLogic and delivered in the most successful way since 1981. In line with its business activities, SingularLogic is a credible partner in data management, data analytics and decision support systems, data visualization services in the Cloud, as well as in systems integration.

Relevant Projects

  • GEOCLIMA (Cooperation 2009)
The project GEOCLIMA develloped an integrated Geographic Information System (GIS) allowing the user to manage, analyze and visualize the information which is directly or indirectly related to climate and its future projections in Greece. The main components of the project are: a) collection and homogenization of climate and environmental related information, b) estimation of future climate change based on existing regional climate model (RCM) simulations as well as a supplementary high resolution (10 km x 10 km) simulation over the period 1961-2100 using RegCM3, c) compilation of an integrated uniform geographic database, and d) mapping of climate data, creation of digital thematic maps, and development of the integrated web GIS application.
  • VITAL (FP7)
Millions of physical entities – from consumer products to transport vehicles, from event locations to human beings – are recorded and tracked in time and space. The usefulness of this data, however, is as yet severely restricted by fragmentation, incompatibility and lack of interoperability of data sources and systems. VITAL will address this by developing a federated middleware platform connecting internet-connected objects (regardless of source platform or architecture) with unlimited potential smart city applications, creating filtering and processing protocols as well as a range of tools for both data providers and end-user application developers.
  • GEYZER (FP7)
Brief description: GEYSER combines innovative AC/DC data center optimized design practices with real time smart synergistic IT infrastructure (computing, storage), cooling and power subsystems for energy monitoring and control, with flexible supply/demand load and energy management within green energy-led marketplaces and geographical renewable energy supply-aware load balancing. GEYSER future green networked data centres will be able to monitor, control, reuse and optimize their energy consumption and production, from renewable energy in particular, within the framework of a holistic representation of energy (either power or heat) and along the underway roadmap towards acting as energy consumers. Expected outcomes will be beyond-SoTA values for energy efficiency metrics, i.e. PUE below 1.20 and CUE and ERE improvement by 30% in average.
  • MOBIS (FP7)
The main goal of MobiS is to create a new federated, customized and intelligent mobility concept and solution by applying novel Future Internet technologies and Artificial Intelligence concepts and methods that will monitor, model and manage the complex network of urban mobility subjects, objects which interacts with natural, social and business environment in a symbiotic way, where all different stakeholders in urban traffic will be able to cooperate, thus providing more efficient, energy-aware and environmental friendly citizen mobility.
